Open Porous Media

This is a test of a DUNE (Distributed and Unified Numerics Environment) module called OPM Benchmarks from the Open Porous Media project. Open Porous Media is a set of open-source tools concerning simulation of flow and transport of fluids in porous media.

To run this test with the Phoronix Test Suite, the basic command is: phoronix-test-suite benchmark open-porous-media.

Revision History

pts/open-porous-media-1.3.1   [View Source]   Mon, 09 Dec 2013 09:59:21 GMT
Support using cmake28 for building OPM when cmake is not present.

pts/open-porous-media-1.3.0   [View Source]   Tue, 26 Nov 2013 22:07:20 GMT
Update code; lower parallel job count; add opm-material. Should be great now!

pts/open-porous-media-1.2.0   [View Source]   Tue, 05 Nov 2013 13:45:30 GMT
Update against latest OPM code as of this morning... Also pull in some of the test profile changes from HPCC for HOSTFILE, OPM_NUM_THREADS, etc.

pts/open-porous-media-1.1.0   [View Source]   Fri, 26 Oct 2012 08:46:25 GMT
Update OPM code to 2012-10-26 pre-packaged snapshot by Michael Larabel. Should be working great aside from segv issue and the OPM not evidentally internally validating the results right now.

Initial ocmmit of the OPM Open Porous Media test profile from Statoil.

Performance Metrics

Analyze Test Configuration:

Open Porous Media 2013-11-26

OPM Benchmark: Upscale-Relperm

OpenBenchmarking.org metrics for this test profile configuration based on 185 public results since 26 November 2013 with the latest data as of 19 April 2018.

Below is an overview of the generalized performance for components where there is sufficient statistically significant data based upon user-uploaded results. It is important to keep in mind particularly in the Linux/open-source space there can be vastly different OS configurations, with this overview intended to offer just general guidance as to the performance expectations.

Based on OpenBenchmarking.org data, the selected test / test configuration (Open Porous Media 2013-11-26 - OPM Benchmark: Upscale-Relperm) has an average run-time of 2 minutes. By default this test profile is set to run at least 3 times but may increase if the standard deviation exceeds pre-defined defaults or other calculations deem additional runs necessary for greater statistical accuracy of the result.
