MEPIS 11.0 is a kernel. The MEPIS 11.0 has been tested via the Phoronix Test Suite in the configurations listed below.
KDE 4.0 Beta 1 w/ MEPIS: The first beta of KDE 4.0 was released earlier this month and Warren Woodford of the MEPIS project has now built a version of SimplyMEPIS 7 that is based upon Debian Etch with the 32-bit and 64-bit KDE 4.0 Beta 1 packages. With some great work going into version 4 of the K Desktop Environment, we've enclosed some screenshots from this MEPIS testing build.
MEPIS Test Uses Ubuntu: Warren Woodford has announced yesterday that a new test version of the MEPIS Linux distribution is now based upon the Ubuntu Dapper Drake package pools, rather than Debian itself. This work has been done to smooth the way for SimplyMEPIS 6.0. At this time, only a testing version of the MEPIS + Ubuntu duo is available.
MEPIS SimplyMEPIS v3.4-1 RC1: The first release candidate for MEPIS' upcoming SimplyMEPIS 3.4 series has been released and is now available from their mirrors. Since we last took at MEPIS a few releases ago they have implemented X.Org 6.8.2, KDE 3.4.2, OpenOffice 2.0, Firefox 1.5, Skype 1.2.0.18, and a wealth of other packages.
MEPIS SimplyMEPIS 3.3.1: Every day a number of different Linux distributions premiere or are simply updated. With many of these releases being relatively similar to each other and not offering any major advancements, a portion of them go un-heard. MEPIS has recently released SimplyMEPIS 3.3.1 which is the focus of these screenshots today.
