Dell To Ship Ubuntu Moblin Remix Netbooks: Dell and Canonical have been collaborating on Ubuntu Moblin Remix, which is a mix of Ubuntu, Ubuntu Netbook Remix, and Intel's Moblin 2.0 platform. Moblin 2.0 offers a very impressive user-interface and great boot times for use on Intel Atom-powered netbooks.

Dell Now Shipping Ubuntu 8.04 LTS PCs: Ubuntu 8.04 LTS had shipped back in April, but up until now owners of Dell PCs would have had to install this "Hardy Heron" update manually if they were interested in benefiting from the Linux 2.6.24 kernel, GNOME 2.22, and the other improvements within this desktop Linux distribution.

Dellbuntu Effect Reaches China: This year already Dell has made several Ubuntu Linux announcements, such as shipping Ubuntu 7.10 on the Dell XPS M1330 and Inspiron 1525, but today another announcement comes off the Direct2 Dell blog. Dell is now offering Ubuntu 7.10 Linux (with DVD playback support) on its Inspiron 530 PC in China.

Dell Inspiron 1525 Ships Ubuntu 7.10: Last month Dell announced it would ship Ubuntu 7.10 on the XPS M1330 laptop and now Dell is furthering their Dellbuntu product selection with the Inspiron 1525. This Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop will ship with Ubuntu 7.10 and the recently added DVD playback support.

Solaris To Appear On Dell Servers: Dell started off shipping Ubuntu on their notebooks and desktops earlier this year (Dell Loves Ubuntu, It's Official) and now they have found a new mate for their PowerEdge servers. Dell will be making Solaris 10 and Solaris support services available on these select servers.

ATI Radeon HD 2400/2600 On Linux: This week has been extremely exciting to say the least. Dell Wants Better ATI Linux Drivers: Dell knows it won't happen overnight, but along side wanting to ship audio/video codecs, Intel Wireless 80.211N support for Linux, Broadcom Wireless for Linux, and being able to ship notebooks and desktops with Compiz Fusion enabled, Dell would like to see improved ATI Linux drivers.

Dell Names Three Ubuntu Linux Systems: After months of waiting, Dell has finally announced on their Direct2Dell blog that they will be offering their US customers the option of Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn on the Dell XPS 410n, Dimension E520n, and the Inspiron E1505n laptop. These Dell Ubuntu systems all will be available for less than $1000 USD.

Dell's Linux Push Sheds More Light: John Hull, the manager of Linux OS Technologies at Dell, has shed some more light on the Linux push happening at Dell. In the Direct2Dell Blog, Hull reiterates that the default Ubuntu 7.04 "Feisty Fawn" media will be installed on select Ubuntu desktops and notebooks.
