Independent Albatron Reviewstweaktown.com: We have already seen one of their boards based on the 754 socket and GeForce 6150 chipset, and while adequate for a basic setup its lack of dual channel memory and HDMI features make it a bit obsolete for a HD media center in todays market. With that said, we now have the latest installment from Albatron, the KI690-AM2. By its name it gives away a couple of secrets.
lanaddict.com: The long and the short of this is that Albatron's 8600 GTS would make a fine video card for any gamer not able or willing to spend the money to get an 8800 series card.
pcstats.com: In the 3D tests we see that the Albatron 8600GT-256 performs rather well for its GPU class, and that for the most part it can play modern games at 1024x768 without difficulty. Turning up the resolution or completely maxing out the image quality settings is not a great idea. Nvidia's GeForce 8600GT GPU simply doesn't have enough memory bandwidth to handle that kind of load.

3dxtreme.net: This board is fast and stable. Provides a great feature set at an affordable price. Some other features we didn?t get in depth with are the Dual BIOS feature and Watch Dog Timer. Dual BIOS is great when the unexpected happens during a BIOS flash rendering the board dead. By changing a jumper the user now has a secondary BIOS ready to go. This is a very handy feature. The Watch Dog Timer will reset the CMOS to standard CPU settings in the case of the overclock attempt resulting in a failed boot sequence.
3dxtreme.net: Albatron has created a name for themselves by providing quality video card and motherboard solutions. Today we are putting one of their latest solutions, the FX5700P Turbo, to the test. While this video card doesn?t sport a top of the line graphics engine it does have some refinements that we hope will help to make it a worthy competitor. A combination of a 6 layer PCB and fast DDR ram are employed to try to make this a more stable solution while not taking a chunk out of the consumer?s wallet.

It was pointed out a little while ago when we reviewed the 9600XT that putting it up against the 5600 was not a fair comparison, we agree.
