tweaktown.com: We have already seen one of their boards based on the 754 socket and GeForce 6150 chipset, and while adequate for a basic setup its lack of dual channel memory and HDMI features make it a bit obsolete for a HD media center in todays market. With that said, we now have the latest installment from Albatron, the KI690-AM2. By its name it gives away a couple of secrets.
lanaddict.com: The long and the short of this is that Albatron's 8600 GTS would make a fine video card for any gamer not able or willing to spend the money to get an 8800 series card.
pcstats.com: In the 3D tests we see that the Albatron 8600GT-256 performs rather well for its GPU class, and that for the most part it can play modern games at 1024x768 without difficulty. Turning up the resolution or completely maxing out the image quality settings is not a great idea. Nvidia's GeForce 8600GT GPU simply doesn't have enough memory bandwidth to handle that kind of load.
thetechlounge.com: Today we have for review an Albatron 8600 GT from Albatron. This is a standard (as opposed to overclocked) version of NVIDIAs 8600 GT. The 8600 GT performance is a little under par with the 7900 GS and the X1950 PRO, which can currently be bought for about the same price. This puts the card in a tight spot. Will it please the hordes of eager gamers looking for an affordable card?
bjorn3d.com: Back in November 2006 everything changed with the release of a new style of video card. I say new style because it left behind everything we have come to expect from video cards at the time. Pixel and texture shaders were replaced with stream processors, no longer would you have to choose between Anti-aliasing and HDR, and picture quality would never be the same from the green team. The 8800 series had arrived and it brought with it a great many advancements in video card technology of which the most heralded was DirectX 10.
hardocp.com: Albatron?s K8X800 Pro II fuels the Athlon64 fire. We throw one on the test bench to see how the Albatron?s performance heats up the K8 arena.
3dxtreme.net: This board is fast and stable. Provides a great feature set at an affordable price. Some other features we didn?t get in depth with are the Dual BIOS feature and Watch Dog Timer. Dual BIOS is great when the unexpected happens during a BIOS flash rendering the board dead. By changing a jumper the user now has a secondary BIOS ready to go. This is a very handy feature. The Watch Dog Timer will reset the CMOS to standard CPU settings in the case of the overclock attempt resulting in a failed boot sequence.
3dxtreme.net: Albatron has created a name for themselves by providing quality video card and motherboard solutions. Today we are putting one of their latest solutions, the FX5700P Turbo, to the test. While this video card doesn?t sport a top of the line graphics engine it does have some refinements that we hope will help to make it a worthy competitor. A combination of a 6 layer PCB and fast DDR ram are employed to try to make this a more stable solution while not taking a chunk out of the consumer?s wallet.
3dxtreme.net: First will be an overall review of the Albatron GeforceFX 5700 Ultra 128MB video card. This review will be followed by a video card shootout between the FX5700 Ultra and the 9600XT. We wish to concentrate on the video card here in order to give our opinions on the product itself while at the same time providing complete comparison of the two top contenders in the mainstream video card category. It was pointed out a little while ago when we reviewed the 9600XT that putting it up against the 5600 was not a fair comparison, we agree.
tweaktown.com: We have the Albatron KX600S Pro motherboard on the test bench today. It is based on VIA's KT600 chipset for the Athlon XP processor. Albatron has provided a value based motherboard with overclocking on par with the likes of ASUS and ABIT.
viperlair.com: With the exception of the lack of RAID, 10/100 networking, and a passive North Bridge cooler, it's tough to ignore the performance and stability of the PX875P Pro. If you're in the market for a Pentium 4 motherboard, and don't need all the frills some high-end boards may provide, this board is certainly worthy of being on your short-list given its cost.
cluboc.net: AMD is doing a tremendous job making 64-bit processors available for the desktop machine. The usual lot of chipset providers jumped to the table and assembled motherboards to once again rally behind AMD. The VIA K8T800 chipset is among the most widely adopted and deployed chipset brining high performance and nearly limitless expansion to home PC machines. Sharing the spotlight with the nVidia chipset has become a constant ordeal for VIA, which makes even the most minute feature as important as rock solid stability.
phoronix.com: The Taiwan-based Albatron could be considered a heavy player in the motherboard industry, as well as graphics cards for that matter, but how does their most recent AMD SLI adventure perform? Albatron's K8SLI packs in NVIDIA's nForce4 SLI Chipset combined with the innovative features as a Zero Jumper Design, Dual BIOS, and Watch Dog Timer, will this Socket 939 SLI offering be the next item on your shopping list? We have this motherboard here today to answer some of these questions.
