Phoronix Information

ATI Radeon Xpress 1250: Coming out of Canada today is the ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 Chipset. This Chipset is designed for use on Intel PCs and notebooks, and is also geared for delivering a new level of graphics performance. Another fact about this Intel Chipset is that it's the first to support ATI's Avivo (Advanced Video In Video Out).

ATI Socket AM2 Chipsets: Today, as anticipated ATI has released their line-up of AMD Socket AM2 Chipsets. Both ATI's Radeon Xpress 1100 and CrossFire Xpress 3200 are compatible with the AM2 DDR2 processors. The Southbridge going with either of these chips is the SB600. As stated in our AM2 Technology Preview, SB600 support had found its way into the release candidate 3 for the 2.6.17 kernel.

ATI Launches Xpress 1100 (RS485): With AMD's earlier announcement today of the Turion 64 X2 dual-core mobility parts, ATI has jumped to the table and provided a Radeon Xpress 1100. The ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 comes with such features as battery life improvements, faster graphics, better multimedia experience, support for Microsoft Windows Vista.

ATI Linux Supported Devices: With ATI's release notes simply stating each of the series that are supported by the Linux fglrx display drivers, and some users being concerned about what specific cards may or may not be supported, we have posted a list of all products supported. This list is as of the v8.24.8 drivers that premiered earlier this week and consists of both the desktop and mobility solutions.

ATI Xpress 3200 (RD580): On the hardware swing of things for today, ATI Technologies has done a hard-launch of the new CrossFire Xpress 3200, or the much talked about RD580. ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX:ATY)(NASDAQ:ATYT), has changed the rules of the motherboard industry with the introduction of its CrossFire(TM) Xpress 3200 chipset-delivering the enthusiast gaming platform of the future.
