Phoronix Information

AMD's RS880 / 785G Gains Open-Source Acceleration: Back in March we shared that the open-source ATI driver had gained support for the unreleased ATI RS880 IGP. Well, the RS880 ended up being turned into the 785G due to some problems on AMD's side, but today this new, much more powerful IGP has launched. With that said, another commit made to the xf86-video-ati driver today finishes off the support.

AMD Introduces Puma Platform: Yesterday was NVIDIA's turn in the spotlight with the introduction of the GeForce 9 Mobile GPUs and Hybrid SLI. Today the attention turns to AMD with their new announcements coming out of Computex. AMD has introduced their next-generation notebook "Puma" platform, its fastest notebook graphics processor ever, an external graphics solution for notebooks, and PowerXpress improvements...

ATI Radeon HD 2400/2600 On Linux: This week has been extremely exciting to say the least. We started by telling you about the AMD 8.41 Display Driver which is largely rewritten and offers Radeon HD 2000 product support, performance improvements, and soon will support AIGLX. Four articles looking at the R300/400, R500, and R600 performance under Linux followed that preview.

ATI Linux Supported Devices: With ATI's release notes simply stating each of the series that are supported by the Linux fglrx display drivers, and some users being concerned about what specific cards may or may not be supported, we have posted a list of all products supported. This list is as of the v8.24.8 drivers that premiered earlier this week and consists of both the desktop and mobility solutions.

ATI Linux 8.24.8 Drivers: Well well, isn't it time for ATI's monthly software period? Yes it is! This month ATI Linux developers have definitely not taken a break as today's 8.24.8 release does support the Radeon X1000 series. In addition to the desktop lineup, the mobile products are also supported from the X1k lineup.

ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT and 2600 XT

guru3d.com: Oh good gosh people, that certainly took a while didn't it? But yes, today finally is the day we can bring you an in depth review of AMD's ATI Radeon HD 2400 and 2600 products. Two products armed with loads of features to attack the budget and mid-range market with prices that are really interesting.

AMD Radeon HD 2400 and 2600

techreport.com: AMD FINALLY PULLED BACK the curtain on the remainder of its DirectX 10 GPU lineup recently, and we, erm, kinda stumbled on getting the review out at that time. I offered various excuses, including word of a small fire in Damage Labs and limited time with the cards themselves, all of which were true--and dramatic, which really helps sell an excuse.

VisionTek Radeon HD 2400 Pro

ninjalane.com: Budget systems are not something we really focus on here at Ninjalane but as computers advance the once top of the line gear you've been drooling over all of a sudden becomes affordable. This is the original thought around budget gear. Most figured that you could get a better deal waiting for the price to come down than look at lower end hardware based on modern components.

ATI HD 2400 XT 256MB

thetechlounge.com: It's hard to believe, but there are actually many people who don't want the trappings, and cost, of gaming hardware. Integrated graphics aren't always an option and, when they are, they use precious system resources that, for only a little extra cash, can be un-tethered.

Power Color HD 2400 Pro 256MB

pro-clockers.com: To accommodate those mid-range users, Powercolor started manufacturing the HD 2400 series video cards. Every card in the HD 2400 Series has DirectX 10 support, 1080p, Universal Video Decoding, and HDMI with surround sound. Today, we have the Powercolor HD2400 Pro on our test bench.
