battery-baseline
Intel Core i7-2670QM testing with a LENOVO and Intel Gen6 Mobile 1024MB on Linux via the Phoronix Test Suite.
Baseline test before optimization attempts
Processor: Intel Core i7-2670QM @ 2.20GHz (8 Cores), Motherboard: LENOVO, Chipset: Intel 2nd Generation Core Family DRAM, Memory: 8192MB, Disk: 750GB Western Digital WD7500BPVT-2, Graphics: Intel Gen6 Mobile 1024MB (1100MHz), Audio: Realtek ALC272, Network: Broadcom NetLink BCM57781 Gigabit PCIe + Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000
OS: Linux, Kernel: 3.6.10-1-ARCH (x86_64), Desktop: GNOME Shell 3.6.2, Display Server: X Server 1.13.0.902 (1.13.1 RC 2), Display Driver: intel 2.20.15, Compiler: GCC 4.7.2, File-System: ext4, Screen Resolution: 1366x768
Processor Notes: Scaling Governor: ondemand
System Notes: This was running on battery power.
Battery Power Usage
This test is designed for notebooks and netbooks and monitor's the system's battery consumption as it idles for 60 seconds, then turns off the monitor for 60 seconds via DPMS, then turns the display back on and plays back a sample H.264 1080p video file using mplayer with the X-Video output adapter. A line graph showing the power usage is then rendered. Learn more via the OpenBenchmarking.org test page.
