Scaling Bulldozer, Gulftown, Sandy, Shanghai

The featured result on OpenBenchmarking.org today is Scaling Bulldozer, Gulftown, Sandy, Shanghai.

Seeing how well the AMD Bulldozer FX-8150 scales under Linux when controlling the core count from the BIOS/UEFI of the ASUS Crosshair V Formula motherboard. Using Linux 3.1 kernel and multi-threaded tests. To be compared to other Intel CPUs (Gulftown and Sandy Bridge) for a future article on Phoronix.com. Also results from a dual AMD Opteron 2384 (Shanghai) workstation. All systems were running Ubuntu 11.10 x86_64 with a patched Linux 3.1 kernel that supports the IC aliasing fix for AMD Family 15 (Bulldozer) CPUs while other hardware is untouched.
