AMD A8-3850 Reviews

Looking for hardware reviews on the new AMD A8-3850? OpenBenchmarking.org's Cekora Engine has found some.

AMD A8-3850 Reviews:

anandtech.com: Present day consumers use their PCs for multimedia intensive tasks such as HD video playback. These HTPC tasks are not very power efficient when done using the x86 processor alone. Gamers have remained the main focus of the GPU developers. However, the GPU architecture (coupled with a dedicated video decoder on the same silicon) is quite useful for video playback and post processing also. This lightens the load on the x86 processor, and so, even consumers who rarely game opt to go for a discrete HTPC graphics card.

bit-tech.net: Earlier this month AMD launched its first line of Llano-based A-series APUs (accelerated processing unit); the company?s fusion of its K10 CPU architecture with a Radeon GPU on a single chip.

hardwareheaven.com: Today we have the A8-3850 APU running on Gigabytes A75-UD4H motherboard and will be putting them through a selection of tests to find out how they compare to the equivalent i3/Z68 system. Whether you are interested in media conversion, playback or gaming performance this article will demonstrate where the A8 and A75 fit into the current market.

hothardware.com: AMD is now ready with Llano-based products for the desktop. On the desktop, Llano offers similar things. In fact, the underlying technology is identical. But the desktop landscape is very different. Desktops aren't constrained by the limited form-factors and thermal requirements of mobile systems, and as such, Llano has to compete with a much broader range of options. AMD thinks they have struck the right balance between CPU and GPU performance though, and at some very budget-friendly price points. Ultimately, consumers will decide if AMD is on target. In the meantime, we've got the first AMD Llano-based desktop APU, the A8-3850, in the lab, complete with a quartet of A75-chipset based motherboards...

techreport.com: AMD's "Llano" APU makes a compelling proposition as a laptop chip, but its position on the desktop is more precarious. Read on to find out why?and whether it can overcome that hurdle.

techspot.com: Following in the footsteps of Brazos, AMD is now ready to unleash its bigger brother. Codenamed "Llano," the new arrival resides in AMD's "Lynx" platform and packs four Husky cores (very similar to what's inside Athlon II processors), along with a robust GPU based on the Evergreen family's Redwood architecture.

tweaktown.com: I'm quite a fan of the Fusion platform; I've built myself a really nice little HTPC for my room based around the AMD Brazos platform using the wonderful ASUS E35M1-I Deluxe Motherboard. Today we see the next level of Fusion, introduced to us in the form of the Llano platform and the Lynx APU. The Llano platform is what AMD hope will become the mainstream platform to use; based on what we saw from the Brazos platform we have to say that there's a good chance they're heading in the right direction
